Bad Posture

Every time I walk past a store window or any mirror for that fact, I cringe when I see my posture. And I'm sure I'm not alone out there, but it's SO SO hard to correct it. It just doesn't feel comfortable to stand proper and when I do I feel like I'm sticking my breasts out, trying to really prove that YES I do have breasts. If anyone has any suggestions on how to ween my way back to straightness, then feel free to comment. Maybe I need to invent a contraption that zaps you when your shoulders start to sag...ahh that would cost too much money.(See there's my procrastination side talking again.) Hopefully I'll straighten my problem out soon. How'd ya like that pun?

I agree it is very difficult, my teacher in grade 4 told me if i keep sitting like that im going to become a hunch back! mean old lady! anyway pilates has helped, when you try and correct your stance, pull your shoulders back slowly while pulling your bellybutton to your spine as if theres a string there being pulled, the tummy back helps the boobs stay back....but hey if youve got em...:)

I totally have the posture of the guy on the left! My gut sticks out and so does my butt! I really think I am going to be the hunch back old lady and I'm scared. I need to start pilates.

I'm with Jenn. Pilates will most certainly straighten you up a bit. But you have to vigilant and aware ALL the time. I guess because I was in ballet when I was younger, and also because my Granny always harped on me to keep my shoulders back and stretch out tall, I continue to try and do that. Yes...that's all I know. Try and be tall even when you are sitting down. I do it to try and minimize the "optical illusion" of a double chin...Ok, I might be the only one who thinks it's an illusion. Others will just see it for what it is.
